At Digital Memorials, we believe that memories should be cherished and celebrated. Our innovative Digital Memorials offer a modern way to honour your loved ones by integrating technology with traditional memorials. Based in Auckland, we proudly serve families worldwide.
Digital Memorials is a service that provides an extension or addon to a headstone, plaque or memorial. There are so many other creative ways of launching precious memories, marketing promotions or important documentation with a QRCode – would love to hear from you, regarding any other crazy, wonderful or querky ideas! From statues, pieces of artwork, famous people – the QRCode (if placed on anything) will share more detailed information for you.
In this case, you scan a code which is placed on the side of a headstone and it will launch a private (password protected) or a public webpage provided by us, with the precious memories of your loved one for all family to see for many many years. Email the code to anybody overseas so they don’t miss out.*
How would you like your loved one to be remembered? What if family members could not visit the loved one, be at the funeral service or attend the unveiling? We can help you whether it’s people or pets. For years or decades to come, it is worth your while talking with us to discuss how you would like your loved one to be remembered.

How do I get started? Next Steps.
Here are a few things to consider. If you want a DM (Digital Memorial) to be created and left on the DM website after quoting and completing the DM, further changes or additions to the images, videos or text can definitely still be made but will be an additional cost. It is good to prepare as much as your content as possible, make a decision what you would like on the DM. It is recommended we use your Google Drive, Dropbox or similar so you keep in control of all your precious files and images of your loved one and ensure you have a backup of it somewhere else.
You can create your own webpage and take control of any further changes/additional material added in the future. All we would do is help you do all the uploading, design, photo cropping, retouching or colour-correcting. Make final changes and logout of the webpage (we encourage you to then change the password).
Some clients create their own Blog page like this one for Ihaka Samuels. It is totally owned and controlled also by the family. We just do everything as per point no. 3 above.
A few clients will just created an Unlisted YouTube video that shows a slideshow of memories for the loved one who has passed and the QRCode is still placed on a headstone, plaque or in an Urupa where everyone can scan and launch this video also.
Depending how much work is involved and if we have a busy work schedule, some DM’s can be turned around in 2-3 weeks. The QRCode itself is produced elsewhere and must also be booked in for production then sent on a tracked courier to you. This could take up to one week to complete.
Email or book a time for a zoom catchup with either yourself or family to go over the Pros and Cons, options of how to produce a Digital Memorial.
What can a QRCode be used for?
There is a sincere and heartfelt way of sharing memories, by scanning a simple unobtrusive code, placed anywhere on:
Existing headstones
New headstones
Grave markers
Urupas
Urns
Monuments
Garden benches
Plaques
Launch slideshow off an Order of Service funeral brochure
And other possibilities
To link all types of memorials to a:
Website (private or public)
Blog, or a
Single page
That can be shared by loved ones around the world! QR (quick response) codes act as a link from your smart phone or tablet to an online memorial for your loved one. These can be made public or password protected. This is a great way to personalize your custom headstone and leave a legacy for all the family to enjoy.
